Elections for the 41st student council have came to an end.

 During the elections period, candidates have carried out the following in an effort to make theirseleve know to the student population:

1. Project elections

This is a new item of elections, each group will undertake a project, to improve the school in one way or another. Some of the project include: umbrealla borrowing and the rants pillar.

 2. Campaigning central

In order to allow candidates a chance to have a more informal way of publicising themseleve, campaigning central was put into place. It allow candidates to made themseleve known and the student population a chance to know them better. Campaigning central was utilised during campaigning day to carry out hot seat style interviews, which add in some fun and action into campaigning day, yet still knowing all the candidates.

 3. Formal speech and Q&A

 This section allows candidates to voice their vision for the school population and garner your votes.

 

This year, voting was done via the Ivote system. Bigger password slips as compared to previous years were given out to students. This was done after consideration of feedback from previous years. The voting lasted for 3 days,with voting booth placed in the canteen to help students both troubleshoot and also to encourage higher participation rate in voting.

These newly elected councillors will be called elects from now till investiture, which will be held on the 23rd of May.
